Douglass, Schell and Hitchcock crowned state champions

Reed Douglass, Dylan Schell and Tristen Hitchcock won state championships in their respective weight classes on Saturday night at MVP Arena. Douglass won a rematch of the sectional final against LaSalle’s Ray Hutton with a 3-1 decision. In Division I in the 172 pound weight class Queensbury’s Dylan Schell capped off an unbeaten season with a state championship. Schell won a 4-1 decision over Mikey Altomer from Minisink Valley out of Section 9. Warrensburg-Bolton’s Tristen Hitchcock scored in overtime to give him the sudden victory win over Nick Rogers out of Section 3. See highlights and reaction here.
