Drug charges dropped against former Greene County kindergarten teacher

Drug charges were dropped against a former kindergarten teacher in Greene County.

NewsChannel 13 first reported on Melissa Saccoccie’s arrest last May, but the district attorney in Greene County says the charges have been withdrawn.

However, the district attorney says the case is not yet closed.

One of the initial charges was driving while intoxicated. However, the district attorney tells NewsChannel 13 lab results show Saccoccie had no alcohol in her system.

The results showed some substance, but the district attorney says it’s not yet clear what that was.

He said a decision has not yet been made on whether a new charge is warranted.
