There will soon be a new way to get around Saratoga Springs. The city famous for fast four-legged animals you can bet on will have a stable of two-wheeled scooters you can ride on.

The scooters are being offered by CDTA. You’ll simply download the CDTA Scoot App, enter some info, and a credit card, and find an electric scooters at racks placed around town.
They scoot along at up to 15 miles per hour. It costs you $2 to unlock them, then a quarter a minute. CDTA expects them to be a big hit in Saratoga.
The scooters will be fully functional in Albany, Schenectady and Troy first. They did pilot programs in those cities last summer.
The hope is to have everything in Saratoga Springs up and running in time for track season.
