First responders from big Watervliet fire thanked with free lunch

WATERVLIET – Burgers, dogs, and a side of camaraderie.

It was a free lunch for dozens and dozens of firefighters, police officers, EMS workers and more who responded to a big fire at 24th Street and Broadway in Watervliet Monday.

Three homes were heavily damaged in the fire.

Tim Cavanaugh organized all of this as a way to say thank you for the hard work they put in. He lives a short distance from the fire.

"I wanted to do something for these people," said Kavanaugh. "Ninety degree weather, these guys are running around with all their gear."
