Albany County Executive Dan McCoy announced Wednesday the county has created a new position for community health wellness development.

The coordinator is former NFL player and Albany native Dion Lewis.

"I think it’s important to help give back with people dealing with mental health, especially during this pandemic, especially with the gun violence going around, and a lot of it being younger kids. I’m just hoping that I could come back, and connect to these younger kids and even young adults, just to give them hope," Lewis said.

Lewis played for the Eagles, Patriots, Titans and Giants during his career.
