Former New York state Senator Betty Little has been honored by Clarkson University. She received the school’s highest community service honor, the Bertrand H. Snell Award.

"In a quarter-century as a state representative, Little earned a reputation as the go-to person from the North Country who worked hard to benefit of the citizens she represented," Clarkson University President Tony Collins said.

Little represented the 45th Senate District, which includes Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Warren, and parts of Washington and St. Lawrence counties.

She retired after nearly 20 years as a state senator.
