Former Warren County Sheriff and State Police Investigator Bud York is returning to law enforcement.

York has been named the interim police chief in the city of Plattsburgh.

The city has been searching for a new top cop for about a year following the resignation of its then-chief, who was named in an excessive force lawsuit.

York, 70, served 12 years as Warren County Sheriff after 30 years with the New York State Police.
