The Fort Edward School District will soon have a new leader. The Board of Education says it plans to appoint Dr. Richard DeMallie as superintendent.

Dr. DeMallie is currently the high school principal of the Gloversville School District. He’s been with that district for more than 20 years, starting as a physical education teacher.

DeMallie will replace interim Superintendent Mark Bessen.

The appointment will be made official at Wednesday night’s Board of Education meeting.
