Registration is now open for the Freihofer’s Run for Women.

The race’s director made an exciting announcement Wednesday morning about the program. The big race is less than six months away.

This year, the Capital District YMCA is partnering with the Freihofer’s Run for Women to help women achieve their race day goals through the Freihofer’s Training Challenge.

The 11-week training challenge kicks off on March 21, and the Capital District YMCA locations will serve as meet up spots, so people can pick a location that is convenient for them.

People who are training will get a 12-week membership to the YMCA, so they can cross train with different classes and equipment.

Amy Mosher has participated in the challenge, and credits the program with helping her shed 200 pounds over the years. Now, she serves as a mentor for the training program.

Hear the encouraging advice she has for women who are thinking about trying it, by watching the video of Sam Hesler’s story.
