Gillibrand: Supreme Court decision is extreme, unconscionable

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand spoke outside Planned Parenthood headquarters in Albany on Friday after the Supreme Court voted to overturn Roe v. Wade.

While Gillibrand was the headliner, the anger, outrage, furor and lividness created by the Supreme Court’s decision was shared by everyone who gathered.

It was a virtual who’s who of local progressive voices. They brought banners. They brought energy. They brought lots of passion. Some brought their young children.

Gillibrand said this is why former President Trump stuffed the Supreme Court with three ultra-conservative judges. She also espoused her believe that a woman’s right to choose has now become the central issue in the upcoming midterm elections, and stressed the importance of making sure every American understands the consequences of what has happened.
