BOLTON LANDING – Gov. Kathy Hochul was in Warren County Friday morning.

The governor addressed the Business Council of New York state in Bolton Landing.

Business leaders are meeting to discuss recovering from the pandemic.

Hochul laid out her vision to move the state forward as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to put a strain on the state’s economy. The governor said New York State was the hardest hit by the pandemic. Hochul added statewide unemployment is about 7.4% and even higher in New York City.

The governor is focusing on education, the healthcare system, child care issues and the workforce among other things.

Hochul is hoping the state will receive infrastructure funding from the federal government soon.

"We’re not where we need to be, but that money could help us bring back so many jobs and opportunities," Gov. Hochul explained.

The governor’s address is part of the leader’s annual retreat.
