Governor Hochul wants to help underserved communities in New York State be able to afford technology needed to keep telehealth technologies up and running after the pandemic.

She announced a $3 million grant program on Tuesday that will cover the cost of new technology to improve access in hard to reach areas. The program will support communities health care providers in being able to adopt the proper technologies, such as audiovisual and remote monitoring devices, to better reach New York State residents.

"Every New Yorker should have access to high-quality health care no matter where they live," said Governor Hochul.

The money will also pay to make telehealth visits possible in places like libraries, homeless shelters and pharmacies.

Grant applications will open on January 4th.
