GREEN ISLAND – There was an empty chair at the Heatly School graduation in Green Island on Friday. It was reserved for a member of the class killed nearly a year and a half ago.
Brandon Sylvester, 17, was hit by a car and killed as he crossed 787 at Tibbits Avenue.
The empty seat had a picture of Brandon.
His sister and two other teens were hit but survived.

Police say the driver had the green light but was driving with a suspended license, and it was their 10th suspension.
Due to the pandemic, the investigation slowed, so the family is still waiting to see if charges will be filed.
His sister Jenna, still recovering herself, was walking the stage to accept his diploma.
Hear more about the way people who knew Brandon say they will remember him by watching the video.
