Gov. Hochul announced the "Clean Green Schools Initiative" program in conjunction with Earth Day on Friday.

The governor says $57 million in funding is available. It’s set to be used to advance clean energy and energy efficiency solutions to improve indoor air quality and reduce emissions.

The money is available for more than 600 under-resourced public Pre-K through 12 schools across the state.

The state budget also requires all new school bus purchases be zero-emissions by 2027, and all school buses on the road be zero-emissions by 2035.
