HVCC, GlobalFoundries partnering up for new Malta training center

Hudson Valley Community College and GlobalFoundries are creating a new training and apprenticeship center in Malta.
GlobalFoundries presented HVCC with a $500,000 check Thursday for the project.
It includes two components, renovations to the college’s current
TEC-SMART building and the expansion of a new STEM education center.
This comes just weeks after GlobalFoundries announced plans to build a new chip fab operation in Malta.
It’s expected to double the site’s capacity and create more than 1,000 new jobs.
