Ice jams cause flooding, evacuations in Dolgeville

DOLGEVILLE – An ice jam along the East Canada Creek was causing flooding in the village of Dolgeville on Friday.

The flooding started around 1:30 Friday afternoon.

Firefighters tell NewsChannel 13 at least four people and three dogs were evacuated from Van Buren Street in Dolgeville.

Emergency crews have been working to lower the water levels.

It’s still unclear when people will be able to get back into their homes.

The front yard of a home was completely flooded. It’s unclear if they were evacuated.
