Ichabod Crane’s unexpected run ends with first ever state championship

The Ichabod Crane boys basketball team capped off a magical season with its first ever state championship, 63-62 over Friends Academy on Sunday afternoon at Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls. NewsChannel 13 all-star Brett Richards went down with an ankle injury in the first quarter and the Riders got down by double digits, but Richards’ return in the second quarter helped spur a comeback. Richards had 19 points and 16 rebounds on the way to tournament MVP and the Riders celebrated their title in front of a home crowd. See highlights and post-game reaction here.
