The Lake George fire department rescued a man who was trapped on top of his pickup truck in the flooded parking lot of the Howard Johnson Hotel.

Our media partners at the Post Star report that the man who was rescued is a tourist.

The Lake George firefighters say they used a boat to rescue him.

The flooding is a result of water runoff from Prospect Mountain which flows into the drainage portion of the parking lot.

"The lower lot always floods, every single year," said Fire Chief Brandon Combs
