The Lansingburgh man found guilty of murdering a child was sentenced Wednesday.

Kevin Cox was sentenced to the maximum of 25 years to life for the murder of his step-son, 6-year-old Davonte Paul.

Police say back in February 2020, Cox forced Davonte to sit outside in the snow for hours as punishment. Davonte died as a result.

His mother called 911, claiming he drowned in the bathtub, but no water was found in the child’s lungs.
