Law professor: Cuomo can’t be impeached once he leaves office

Assembly Republicans are calling for the impeachment investigation into Gov. Cuomo to continue.

The Judiciary Committee is scheduled to meet Monday to discuss the evidence, and the next steps.

However, one local professor of political science and constitutional law says he doesn’t think that can happen.

Len Cutler of Siena College says according to the Constitution, lawmakers can continue the investigation because they started the process. However, he believes they cannot impeach Cuomo when he’s no longer in office.
