Man, 80, accused of trying to puncture Amsterdam police tires

Amsterdam police say an 80-year-old tried to destroy tires on several of their police cars. They say John Sanders threw nails behind the wheels of five cars at the public safety building.
Security video helped identify Sanders, and then his car, when he drove by police headquarters again a short time later.
Police stopped him on Route 30 South, and say he still had items in his car connected to the crime.
He’s also accused of driving with a suspended license.
