Man charged with murder for Albany homicide

Albany police have arrested a man they say killed Albany chef Tyrome Wallace.

Marquis Jackson, 34, is now is charged with murder and weapons possession.

Police say Jackson stabbed Wallace during a fight at a home on Washington Avenue Monday morning.

Jackson is now in the Albany County Jail.

Wallace was a chef, and he is being remembered by his peers.

He was honored as a rising star chef at the Albany Chefs’ Food and Wine Festival in 2018.

The festival’s board president says Wallace was a true visionary in the kitchen.

The board is now setting up a fund to help Wallace’s family.
