Man shot on Second Avenue in Albany

Albany police are investigating after a man was shot on Second Avenue late Monday night.

Staff at Albany Medical Center contacted police around 11:50 p.m. when a 25-year-old man walked into the emergency room after being shot in the leg. The man told officers he was shot on Second Avenue, around Raymo Street, by someone he did not know.

The man was treated at the hospital and is expected to survive.

This shooting comes just days after the city declared a state of emergency because of the gun violence.
