Many fans came out for the Albany Empire Block Party. The party took place prior to the game. The event was important for many nearby restaurants. Some local restaurant owners say they lost revenue during the pandemic, so the event helps boost their business.

To enter the gate of the Block Party fans had to be fully vaccinated. To enter the game you had to either show a negative COVID test or be fully vaccinated. Some fans were fine with the rules.
