Massachusetts teen collecting donated dresses for prom

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. – As prom season approaches, a Massachusetts teen is giving the gift of confidence to some of her classmates.

Planning for the event is a big deal, which is why junior Hannah Schmidt bought her dress during winter break.

After cashing out, she became concerned for other classmates, thinking you shouldn’t have to afford a fancy dress to have a good time at prom.

To be a solution to a prom problem, she proposed a project in February.

Ever since, she’s been collecting donated dresses, calling the office of her school resource officer "The Sparkle Shop."

Students can browse and take home a dress for free.

Some classmates have already taken advantage.
