A teenager from Menands is charged with setting a fire in North Greenbush.

The fire was at 136 North Greenbush Road. It’s the site of the old Troy Elk’s Lodge. The flames broke out in the portion of the building containing an apartment. Firefighters found there was a small fire in the basement.

Colten Lownes, 18, is facing charges. Police say he knew people who lived in that apartment. They say he snuck into the basement and started the fire while people were home.

Lownes was arrested at his home. He’s in the Rensselaer County Jail on $10,000 bail.
