Sunday marked a special milestone for the Capital Church Food Pantry in Colonie. After 38 years, they have re-opened in a new space on Vly Road.

Their newly renovated space provides easy access for people in need. The new location also provides more space to hold food supplies, allowing the pantry to feed even more local residents.

Cheryl and John McDonnell both manage the food pantry.

"It’s just been a vision that we had for so long to be able to serve the community in a way that makes it easy for them to get to and see us from the road, they can see us, where we are, and they are really happy when they come in," said Cheryl McDonnell.

Not only does Capital Church provide food to those in need, but they also supply coats, hats, and gloves. Over the last 10 years, they have served more than 13,000 residents.
