The New York State Office of Children and Family Services rolled out a new campaign Monday, urging New Yorkers to do what they can to assist a foster family or youth in foster care.

The #DoOneThingNY campaign hopes to shed light on the many ways you can support foster families and youth, without being a foster family, such as mentorship.

Throughout the month, OCFS is also working to clear widespread misconceptions about foster parenting, such as the belief that a foster parent needs to own rather than rent an apartment, must be married, or be of a certain age.
