NY state COVID numbers continue slow rise

New York state continues to see COVID numbers slowly go up.

Gov. Cuomo’s office says 1,679 people tested positive within the past day.

The percent of positive cases reported is 2.46%, with the state’s seven-day average up to 1.97%.

The Capital Region’s seven-day average is still higher at 2.61%

Meantime, Warren County is reporting its first confirmed case of the highly contagious delta variant.

The county says the resident was diagnosed on July 8.

Gov. Cuomo said Monday that 72% of recent positives are linked to the delta variant.
