NY state’s COVID positivity rate nears 12%

New York state’s daily COVID positivity rate is 11.96%, with a 7-day average of 9.46%.

A record 38,835 cases of COVID were reported on Monday.

There’s a net increase of 82 more people hospitalized with the virus, for a total of 4,534. Back in the April 2020 peak, more than 18,000 people were hospitalized at one time.

In the Capital Region, the 7-day positivity rate rose from 7.50% on Tuesday to 8.31% on Wednesday.

In the Mohawk Valley, the 7-day positivity rate rose from 8.54% Tuesday to 8.66% on Wednesday.

Sadly, another 63 people died.
