NY’s daily COVID positivity rate is >1% again

New York’s daily coronavirus positivity rate has climbed to 1.10%, according to the latest numbers released Monday. However, daily deaths are once again at an all-time low, with one new death reported Sunday.

At the peak of the pandemic, around 800 people were dying each day.

The 7-day positivity rate in the Capital Region rose from 0.53% on Saturday to 0.73% on Sunday.

The 7-day positivity rate in the Mohawk Valley dropped from 0.64% on Saturday to 0.63% on Sunday.

There are 348 people hospitalized statewide, a net increase of nine.

The CDC says 73.3% of New Yorkers have at least one shot, with 66.7% fully vaccinated.
