A new store in Albany is making a difference in the lives of local foster children and families.

The store, named "Our Store," was created in partnership with Victory Christian Church. It’s a place specifically for foster children and teenagers.

The 6,000 square foot store is located in Westgate Plaza in Albany. Children can get everything from brand-name sneakers and jackets, to luggage and personal items…and it is all just for them.

"We have a shoe department, we have a sneaker department, we have a clothing department, we have underwear, socks…everything they need and it’s all brand new," said Pastor Charlie Miller. "It’s not hand-me-downs, we are lifting them up saying you’re worthy of a brand new coat. It just really makes all the difference when a child can really say ‘this is mine.”

The store has already served about 300 local foster families. They are hoping to help more than 1,000 children this Christmas season.
