WATERVLIET – Two 20-year-old men are facing felony weapons charges after a traffic stop in Watervliet. Police say one of them had just been released from prison hours earlier.

Authorities stopped Jeffrey Meadows III and Kamao Douglas near Broadway and 7th Street, a little before 8 p.m. Monday.

Police say Meadows was driving with a suspended license.

Officers found a loaded gun in the car, and both men were taken into custody.

NewsChannel 13 is told Douglas had just been released from the Washington County Correctional Facility, where he served 14 months for assault.

He was arrested following a shooting in Troy in September 2020.

Douglas was arraigned for this latest arrest and sent to the Albany County Jail.
