A colorful display is aimed at raising awareness of child abuse.

The Office of Children and Family Services planted pinwheels Monday at Huyck Park in Rensselaer.

Pinwheels are the universal symbol for child abuse prevention. They imply playfulness, whimsy, joy and childhood.

This is the first time since 2019 the event could be held in Rensselaer.

April is "Child Abuse Prevention Month."
