Pipes from overturned tractor trailer on Thruway strike truck

Pipes from the tractor trailer that overturned Wednesday afternoon, fell onto a pick-up truck.

State Police say Christopher Mealing, from Parkton, N.C., was speeding on the ramp of Exit 24-Albany/I-87/I-90 when he lost control. This caused the tractor trailer to rollover and his load of aluminum piping to fall onto a truck below.

Devin Bowen, 23, was driving on the Thruway when the piping fell onto his Ram 1500 pick-up. The Ballston Spa resident walked away with minor injuries.

Mealing was issued a ticket.
