The school superintendent in Pittsfield is expected to announce a decision on masks in schools Friday morning.

Our partners at The Berkshire Eagle report that Superintendent Joseph Curtis has been talking with school principals and counselors to get their opinion on masks.

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker said last week that he was leaving it up to individual districts to make a decision.

The mandate in Massachusetts expires on Feb. 28.
