An Albany man has been arrested after police say he fled while trying to make a traffic stop.

The Albany County Sheriff’s Office says 34-year-old Nasif Jackson, who was on parole for a violent crime, took off from deputies while trying to make a traffic stop Monday night.

Police say Jackson crashed his car on Western Avenue and South Lake Avenue, and was taken into custody.

Police say Jackson was found to be in possession of crack-cocaine, fentanyl, and heroin.
