Police make arrest, recover loaded handgun and drugs
The Albany Police Department was called to the area of North Pearl and Wilson Streets for a domestic disturbance around 11:25 p.m. Saturday when they found a woman with a gun standing near the roadway.
Jammela Fredericks was found holding a loaded gun and was ordered to drop the gun, which she did. However, Fredericks was able to consume an unknown amount of ecstasy pills during the arrest. Police say they recovered over 60 additional ecstasy pills at the scene.
Fredericks was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Tampering with Evidence.
Detectives served a search warrant in connection to Fredericks at 194 North Pearl St. and during the search detectives discovered additional quantities of ecstasy pills and cocaine.
Following the search warrant, Fredericks was also charged with two additional counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. Fredericks will be arraigned following a medical evaluation.
The resident who lives at 194 North Pearl, Gregory Moore, was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. Moore was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and was taken to the Albany County Jail.
