Governor Kathy Hochul wants to allow third parties to offer road tests for a commercial drivers license.
She says that would address the critical shortage of truck drivers and bus drivers, by expanding capacity at state-run testing sites.
The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles will hold a virtual public hearing on the Governor’s proposal on Wednesday, January 26th.
