Homes and businesses in Rensselaer County continue to recover and rebuild after last week’s floods.

Crews were out all-day Wednesday in Wynantskill, clearing debris from the creek.

Water levels dropped as soon as clean up started, and by the afternoon they had dropped eight to ten inches.

"They don’t want you disturbing the stream bed or the banks of the stream, but if you can get in there and grab stuff out of there safely, you can go ahead and do that without a permit," said Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin.

The Rensselaer County U.S. Department of Agriculture will be holding a public meeting Thursday for farmers and other agricultural producers who were impacted by the recent severe weather.

Crews say they found a wide variety of objects during their cleanup.
