CHATHAM – Some animals are not exempt from Veterans Day.
Equine Advocates in Chatham has a retired caisson horse named Tyler on its farm. He’s a retired military horse with the U.S. Army.
For nine years, he helped lead the caskets of military members killed in action to their final resting place at Arlington National Cemetery.
U.S. Congressman Antonio Delgado and members of the Columbia County Veterans Service Agency were scheduled to be at Equine
Advocates on Thursday to honor Tyler’s service.
He is now 19 years old and has found a home at Equine Advocates, which is celebrating 25 years of rescuing horses and other equines.
