Kidney donor Mark Scotch is riding his bike from Massachusetts to Wisconsin to raise donor awareness, and he made a stop in Albany along the way.

We caught up the 65-year-old from Plover, Wisconsin, who set out on his 1,600-mile journey from Martha’s Vineyard. He is calling it, the Organ Trail.

Scotch says the goal is to encourage kidney donations and to show people that they can continue leading active lives after donating.

According to the National Kidney Foundation, there are currently more than 121,000 people waiting for organ transplants in the United States. More than 3,000 new patients are added to the waiting list each month.
