Ellen Zwijacz paid back $864,000 to the estate of the now-deceased client she stole from.

Judge Jim Murphy sentenced her to a year in county jail and admonished her violating her elderly client’s trust.

"You placed your own interests over the benefit of your client, that you violated that sacrosanct trust, that you violated the attorney-client privilege, that you had access to information, documents, money, by being able to ply on the emotions of the victim," said Murphy.

Zwijacz also forfeits her law license and will never practice law again.
