Saratoga County office feverishly working to get people jobs
Pandemic related unemployment benefits ended this week.
There’s never been a better time to look for a job, but many employers still can’t find the help they need.
A local office is determined to convince the unemployed that work pays.
Jennifer McCloskey heads up the Saratoga County Department of Employment and Training. She says finally, in the last week or so, the kinds of calls they’ve been getting have shifted from employers who need help to people who need jobs.

"People are ready to go back to work," she said.
With pandemic unemployment benefits over, reality is sinking in for many. Next week, that extra cash won’t be there. However, employers are still offering plenty to bring workers in, for now.
McCloskey wants the unemployed to know now really is the time to get back into the job market, because the high wages, flex schedules and better benefits may not last forever.
