After a summer season without in-person spectators last year, the Saratoga Race Course is preparing for a busy season ahead.

Thursday is opening day, and the gates open at 7:00 a.m.

NewsChannel 13’s Emily De Vito is in the Spa City ahead of opening day, and says it is busy around the Oklahoma Training Track.

There is 100% capacity at the track, and people can get free grandstand admission on opening day if they show proof of vaccination using the Excelsior Pass. However, they will not be asking for proof of vaccination. Unvaccinated fans are asked to wear a mask.

On Friday, NYRA and CDPHP will honor health care workers and first responders at the Saratoga Race Course.

Health care workers and first responders can get free grandstand admission with proper identification.
