SARATOGA SPRINGS – The bells of Bethesda Episcopal Church in Saratoga Springs tolled Tuesday for Katrina Trask, who died January 11, 1922.

Trask was a well-known Saratogian – an author and philanthropist.

All the churches in Saratoga Springs rang their bells 100 years ago, as Trask was buried in a private ceremony at Yaddo.

There is a historic gateway bearing Katrina Trask’s name in Congress Park.

Trask and her husband, Spencer, are the founders of Yaddo – the 400-acre estate functioning as an artists’ community off of Route 9P.
