Schalmont holds off Waterloo for program’s first state championship

The Schalmont girls basketball team held off Waterloo late to win the Sabres’ first ever state championship, 56-54 on Sunday at Hudson Valley Community College. NewsChannel 13 all-star Payton Graber scored 20 points and was named tournament MVP. Fellow NewsChannel 13 all-star Karissa Antoine had 17 points and was named to the all-tournament team.
