A $500,000 settlement has been approved by the Schenectady City Council.

This stems from a 2018 lawsuit filed by Denise and Ronald Sheridan. They had claimed they were falsely arrested back in 2014.

The resolution was passed during the city council meeting Monday night.

According to the Daily Gazette, the city will be required to pay out a $75,000 deductible.

The rest of the agreement will be covered by the city’s insurance carrier.
