Sex abuse suspect caught on Mohawk River due in court
An Albany County man accused of fleeing down the Mohawk River after attempting to meet a teenager for sex is expected in Rotterdam Town Court on Monday evening.
State police say 48-year-old Paul Gallione of Voorheesville planned to meet a 14-year-old girl at the Gateway Landing Park in Rotterdam last month. They say he arrived in a boat and then took off when he was approached by investigators.
He was taken into custody near Freeman’s Bridge in Glenville.
Gallione is facing attempted rape and attempted criminal sex act charges.
