KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The owner of a small store in Kansas City is trying to do his part to inspire next generation entrepreneurs by letting them learn on the job.

One Pair is a shoe store, clothing store and education center designed, created, and run by the youth of Kansas City’s Urban Core.

Founder Jerren Thornhill says growing up, all he wanted was a chance.

At One Pair you can buy, sell, and trade.

Not only do they know the culture, they create it.

Thornhill gives some student managers, like KJ Farmer, part ownership in the shop, in turn helping them take ownership of their life.

The shop sells clothing from six different local lines.
